Day 1: Heritage, craft beer and an iconic abbey
A tour of the Rulles Brewery
Start your tour at the Brasserie de Rulles, an iconic craft brewery in the region.
Summer beers, dark beers, lagers… Here you’ll discover the local brewing expertise and the traditional beers of Gaume, renowned far beyond the region and also available in our restaurant. An ideal visit to understand the region’s culinary identity.
Orval Abbey
Continue your day with a visit to Orval Abbey, one of Wallonia’s most famous attractions.
With its historic ruins, peaceful gardens and the chance to sample Orval’s famous Trappist beer and cheese, the tour offers a unique immersion in heritage, local produce and spirituality.
Day 2: Picturesque villages and unspoilt countryside
Chassepierre, Torgny, Nobressart and Guirsch: four of Wallonia’s most beautiful villages, just a few minutes away
The village of Chassepierre is renowned for its charm and its scenery along the banks of the Semois.
With its narrow streets, stone houses and street arts festival, it is a must-see destination during a visit to Gaume.
Next, head to Torgny, nicknamed the “Little Belgian Provence” due to its microclimate and its houses built of cut stone with orange-tiled roofs. This village is perfect for a peaceful stroll amongst vineyards, nature and a relaxed way of life.
Vast expanses of meadows and fields stretching as far as the eye can see, a panoramic view of the foothills of the Ardennes: Welcome to Guirsch! A village waiting to be discovered, just a stone’s throw from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The village of Nobressart, situated between Habay-la-Neuve and Arlon, invites you to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere with its traditional Lorraine-style houses. A real gem to visit during your stay.
Le Rocher du Hat in Chiny
In Chiny, the Rocher du Hat offers a superb view of the Semois Valley.
It’s the perfect spot for a break in the countryside and an easy hike, set amidst the typical Gaume countryside.
Kayaking on the Semois
To round off your trip, there’s nothing better than a kayak trip down the Semois.
Set between Chiny, Florenville and the surrounding area, this activity offers a chance to discover the region from a different perspective, as you glide along the water and take in the natural scenery.
