The famous architect I.M. Pei chose the historical site of Fort Thüngen for the construction of the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (Mudam) in Luxembourg. Located on the Kirchberg plateau, between the Place de l’Europe and the Old Town of Luxembourg, the Mudam museum (opened in 2006) invites visitors to explore contemporary art. The public and exhibition space is laid out on three levels and covers more than 6,000 m2. The Mudam Museum offers artists and designers carte blanche to take charge of and interpret the entire museum space: in the traditional exhibition areas, but also in the intermediate zones (reception, café, shop, auditorium, etc.) by proposing original creations.

The collection includes more than 200 works by over 100 artists.

The Mudam offers temporary exhibitions, the presentation of works from the collection, guided tours, meetings, workshops, etc. in Luxembourg.
